Do tooth gems damage your teeth?
No — when applied properly by trained professionals, tooth gems do not damage the enamel.
We use enamel-safe bonding materials and ensure that every gem is placed with precision and care.
How long do tooth gems last?
Tooth gems can last anywhere from 2 months to 36 months, depending on your personal habits, oral care routine, and lifestyle. Following our aftercare instructions will help your gem last as long as possible.
Can I eat or drink after getting a tooth gem?
We recommend waiting at least 2 hours before eating or drinking anything after your appointment to allow the adhesive to fully set.
Can I brush or floss after getting a tooth gem?
Avoid brushing, flossing, or touching the gemmed tooth for 48 hours after your appointment.
Once the 48-hour period has passed, you can resume your normal oral care routine.
What foods or drinks should I avoid after getting a tooth gem?
For the first 24 hours, avoid:
Hard foods or candies 🍬
Alcoholic, acidic, or carbonated beverages 🥤
These can interfere with the bonding process and shorten the life of your gem.
Can I get a tooth gem removed at Crystal Whitening?
No — tooth gems can only be removed by a licensed dentist.
While we professionally apply your gem in-studio, removal must be done by your dentist to ensure the enamel remains intact.
